So this is what it’s like: There are THREE rounds
In this very first and foremost round of the competition, you’ll have to send us at least ONE and at most THREE songs that YOU SING, in your chosen type of audio file (any, in fact, mp3, wma, any audio type that you prefer). You can even upload the file into youtube.com and send us the link, we don’t mind at all, as long as it’s YOUR VOICE that we hear.
We do provide you with software (Adobe Audition 1.5) with guidelines, which you could use to record your song, but it’s NOT compulsory. You can join the contest as a solo artist, a duo, or a band. All are welcomed! You can use music background for your song, you can play your own instrument, or it could a capella. Anything is possible! At the end of every week, all the songs that were sent to us during the week will be posted on this forum and our website for public vote.
This round will close in 13 weeks. After 13 weeks, 20 most promising contestants will be chosen to join the Semi-Final. FIVE of these 20 semi-finalists will be the top five of public vote. The rest will be chosen by our board of judges (who are all professionals and will be introduced on our website). The Semi-Final will take place in two days: 13/01/2008 and 19/01/2008 (final date will be announced after the first round closes).
Round 2: SEMI-FINAL
Each semi-finalist will have to prepare TWO songs, one for the semi-final and one for the final. Each semi-finalist will get to invite at most TWO supporters (free of charge) for the semi-final. The judges will choose 10 finalists. The other 10 semi-finalists will perform on the final night as guest performers.
Round 3: FINAL 27/01/2008
After the Semi-final, all 10 finalists and 10 semi-finalists will be working with professional vocal coaches and choreographers, as well as stylist and make-up artists to prepare for the final night. The final night will be a ticket-only performance. And this is what you get if you are to win:
- ONE First Prize of £200
- ONE Second Prize of £150
- ONE Third Prize of £100
- ONE prize for “Most public-voted song on the internet” of £50
Besides, the 20 semi-finalists will have a chance to be auditioned for SVUK Annual Show in February – an opportunity to perform on the same stage with popular artists and singers from Vietnam. The 20 semi-finalists will be supported with 50% cost of traveling.
Now Who Can Join?Didn’t you remember what we said before at all, this contest is for everybody who has got a bit of a Vietnamese, regardless of your nationalities? But you need to be residing in the UK at the moment, because, well, sorry but we’re not going to pay for your fly ticket. Sorry! Now all you need to do is to fill in the application form, sing a song, record it, and send both the song and the form to these e-mail addresses. Isn’t it just a piece of cake?
